Peer Tutoring
In this strategy the students both benefit from the activity. The individual attention the tutee receives reinforces positive behavior and offers opportunity to practice appropriate social behavior. The tutor gets to be in a position of "teacher" , therefore gains confidence, as well as mastery of the concept. Peer tutoring provides the students opportunities to manage their own behavior, build new friendships and supportive relationships. The teacher can act as an observer and assist as needed, but most of the responsibility is placed on the students' shoulders.
