About Me PersonallyI come from a very interesting close-knit family. Including step-parents, who all helped raise me, I have 5 parents. I’m the oldest of 7 kids. Having so many siblings taught me how to compromise, get along with different personalities, and to be able to laugh at myself (and them). I don’t have any kids of my own, but I have 3 nieces and 4 nephews that I love very much. I’m from Palo Alto, in northern California, and my family are all still up north. They take turns visiting me.
Soccer is my all-time favorite sport. I started playing soccer when I was in 1st grade. I played and coached until 4 years ago. I also practice Hapkido, Korean martial arts, for 7 years. That was great fun! I’ve torn a lot of ligaments and had some interesting surgeries, which is why now I just watch. It is not nearly as much fun as playing! My other love is theater; I especially love musicals. I did my first play in the Children’s Theater when I was in 4th grade. I like to watch the big Broadway shows and small plays around town. Some school years, my class gets to put on a show. The students have a great time writing and acting! I can’t wait to hear about your family and hobbies! |
About Me Professionally |
I believe all teachers in the field of special education need to exhibit; patience, dedication, and enthusiasm. I am versatile and able to contribute these qualities to the profession of teaching.
My first objective has always been to be to provide a healthy academic, emotional, physical environment for all the children I teach. I enjoy the challenge of teaching a mixed range of students with vast backgrounds, strengths, and needs. Daily, I take into consideration my students’ cultures, disabilities, behaviors, modifications and accommodations. It is my responsibility to provide as many diverse opportunities as possible. As a special educator, I contribute an understanding that there are many modalities of learning. Overall, my goal is to give every child the desire to learn. In my opinion, the best way to learn is through self- promotion and continuous positive reinforcement, which allows the child to build the self-confidence necessary to be successful in the academic setting. I strive to provide my students with rich experiences to explore and learn the curriculum, as well as the motivation to engage. |
